This exciting course for beginners is aimed at people who have little to no experience in sewing or using a sewing machine. We will equip you with the skills and language of essential sewing to enable you to read and follow a commercial pattern and to understand and complete a project. This course gives you a strong foundation in sewing therefore you will be able to sew your own garments, gifts, and projects and even build a business of your own from it. This course will open a vast new world of ideas, for you to implement for your own benefit.

Learn how to thread and operate a sewing machine.  Experience the thrill of overlocking your projects. Learn how to take measurements and find the correct pattern size. Thereafter, learn how to trace a particular size from a master pattern and lengthen or shorten a pattern according to preference. Learn how to execute straight stitching, zig zag, back tacks, pivots, seams, hems and overlocking as well as how to use the various interesting features on the sewing machine. Learn the placing, pinning and cutting of pattern pieces onto fabric using grainlines and selvedges. This course will also show you how to use interfacings and fusings, how to master necklines, facings and slits; and correct way to insert a zip.
