Sewing Machine Repair Technician

Location: Hybrid (On-Site at Sew & Grow & Field Call-Outs)

Job Type: Project-Based Contract Work (As Needed)

We are looking for experienced and reliable technicians who can maintain machines, diagnose faults, identify repair requirements, and carry out repairs when needed.

Technicians work on behalf of Sew & Grow and are assigned jobs as customer requests are received.

Compensation structure: This is project-based work, with payment made per service or repair job.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Servicing sewing machines.
  • Diagnosing sewing machine faults.
  • Identifying required repairs.
  • Reporting findings to Sew & Grow.
  • Carrying out approved repairs.
  • Working on-site at the Sew & Grow school when required.
  • Attending customer call-outs when required.

Please note that fault assessments are provided to customers at no charge. Technicians are required to inspect the machine, identify the issue, and report the servicing and/or repair requirements before any work is approved.

Types of Machines

We are looking for technicians who can service and repair one or more of the following:

  • Computerized sewing machines
  • Mechanical sewing machines
  • Embroidery machines
  • Quilting machines
  • Overlockers / Sergers
  • Coverstitch machines
  • Domestic sewing machines
  • Industrial sewing machines

If you mainly work on mechanical sewing machines, you are still welcome to apply.

Requirements

  • Previous sewing machine servicing and/or repair experience.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and identify solutions.
  • Own transport. (Please note that travel to our sewing school is at your own cost.)
  • Own servicing and repair tools.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations when required.
  • Ability to work on-site at Sew & Grow when required.
  • Professional and reliable work ethic.

Compensation

  • Payment is per project. Rates are negotiable and will be discussed during the interview process based on experience, skill level, and the type of work required.
