Sewing Machine Repair Technician

We are looking for experienced sewing machine repair technicians to work with Sew & Grow.

At Sew & Grow, we regularly receive requests from customers who need help with their sewing machines. We are looking for reliable technicians who can diagnose faults, identify repairs needed, and carry out repairs when required.

This is project-based work and payment is made per repair job.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Diagnosing sewing machine faults.
  • Identifying exactly what repairs are needed.
  • Reporting your findings to the Sew & Grow team.
  • Repairing machines when approved.
  • Working at our sewing school when required.
  • Attending customer call-outs when required.

Please Note

We do not charge customers for fault assessments.

You will be responsible for diagnosing the problem and clearly identifying what repairs are needed. Sew & Grow will handle customer communication, quotations and approvals.

Types of Machines

We are looking for technicians who can repair one or more of the following:

  • Computerized sewing machines
  • Mechanical sewing machines
  • Embroidery machines
  • Quilting machines
  • Overlockers / Sergers
  • Coverstitch machines
  • Domestic sewing machines
  • Industrial sewing machines

If you mainly repair mechanical sewing machines, you are still welcome to apply.

Important Information

  • This is project-based work.
  • Payment is per repair project.
  • Rates are negotiable and will be discussed during the interview process.
  • Technicians may be required to work at our sewing school or travel to customer locations.
  • Own transport is essential.
  • Servicing experience is a bonus, but our main focus is repairs.

Selection Process

Shortlisted applicants may be asked to complete a practical assessment to demonstrate their repair and fault-finding skills.
