Sewing Teacher Application
Overview: We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Sewing Teacher to teach a variety of sewing techniques, pattern making and garment construction to students of all skill levels.
Note: A solid understanding of sewing techniques is essential
We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Sewing Teacher to instruct students of all skill levels in sewing techniques, pattern making, and garment construction.
Candidates with pattern-making knowledge and experience will be given preference.

Requirements
- Applicants must have experience in sewing and pattern-making
- A formal qualification is preferred but not compulsory if the candidate has the necessary experience and competencies
Key Responsibilities & Required Skills
Teaching Fundamentals: Guide students from basic to advanced sewing skills, including pattern making and fabric selection.
Teaching Experience: Previous teaching experience or a proven ability to mentor and guide learners is preferred.
Equipment Proficiency: Must be comfortable using sewing machines and overlockers.
Patience & Student Support: Passion for teaching is a must. Students have different learning styles, requiring dedication and patience. If you struggle with maintaining focus or patience, this role may not be suitable for you.
Physical Stamina: The role involves actively engaging with students, moving between workstations, and managing time effectively across multiple sessions.

Location
Our school is based in Northcliff, Johannesburg. Candidates must be within close proximity and able to commute daily.
Position Details
Availability: Full-time opportunities available.
Monday to Saturday, with options for 4-hour or 8-hour shifts (to be discussed in the interview).
Salary: R5,000 – R11,000 per month, depending on shift schedule, expertise, and contributions to the company.

Internship & Assessment Process
Assessment Period: If selected after the interview, candidates will undergo a two-week assessment to evaluate their sewing and pattern-making skills.
Internship (if required): If skill gaps are identified, we offer an internship to help candidates acquire the necessary teaching proficiency.
Probation Period: Once the skills assessment and internship (if applicable) are completed, candidates will enter a probation period to determine their ability to take instruction, teach effectively, and integrate as a valuable member of the Sew and Grow team.
