Inclusive of fabric – 13 Classes each class is 3 hours

This course teaches you the full foundations of Patternmaking, focusing on drafting accurate slopers
and developing patterns for different garments and body shapes.
You will draft each pattern in class and prepare simple calico samples at home. These samples are brought to class for corrections, ensuring you learn proper fitting and paper adjustments without turning the class into a sewing course.

REQUIREMENTS FOR PATTERNMAKING

You must meet ONE of the following:
✔ Completed Course 1 (LEVEL 1 to 5)OR
✔ Completed the Skirt Course
(recommended refresher) OR
✔ Able to sew a simple garment on your
own with clean finishing

HOW THE COURSE WORKS

In Class (Patternmaking Only):
• Learn the theory
• Take measurements correctly
• Draft slopers from scratch
• Manipulate darts, shape patterns, and add
style lines
• Add ease, seam allowances, facings, and
notches
• Learn correction and alteration techniques
• Understand balance lines and fitting principles

At Home:
• Students stitch a simple calico sample of each
sloper.
(NO designing, NO full garments — only basic
sloper stitching.)
• Bring the calico sample to class.

In Class:
• Fit analysis
• Correction points
• Pattern adjustments on paper
• Redrafting if required
