You master both sides of the craft. The course is built from two kinds of module — Knowledge Modules (KM), the theory you need to understand, and Practical Skill Modules (PM), the hands-on skills you carry out and are assessed on. Every topic below is explained in plain terms, with no experience assumed.

Lay out and cut the fabric, then construct and finish the item by hand and machine.

Double-line top-stitching, straight top-stitching with guide lines, a button stand, different collars, a two-piece collar, inserting sleeves on non-stretch, a yoke, a pleat, a narrow hem, sleeve cuffs, a placket, buttonhole rotation and placement, and identifying menswear vs womenswear by button placement.
By the time you finish, thereβs very little inside a professionally-made garment you wonβt understand β and be able to make yourself.
Four days a week for five months. Fridays and weekends stay yours.
Our studio is big and professional, with room to spread out β and every student gets their own dedicated workstation. Thereβs just one intake this year, with enrolment open until 30 September.
You earn a real qualification β assessed as you work, independently checked, then certified by the QCTO. Hereβs how it works.
You pass by proving hands-on skill and actually making the pieces. Two parts: a practical assessment as you learn, then a final assessment at the end by a qualified, accredited assessor.
Your work is checked twice: internally by our accredited assessors and moderator, then externally through QCTO quality assurance. That independent check is what makes your certificate credible β an employer knows it was properly earned, not signed off in-house.
Once youβve passed and been externally verified, the QCTO issues your official, nationally recognised certificate. Weβre not permitted to issue it ourselves β which is exactly what keeps it credible.
You leave with proof: a nationally recognised, QCTO-issued Occupational Certificate.
Assessed by doing, checked by someone independent, issued by the QCTO β thatβs what makes it worth having.
